The client and the task: An agricultural enterprise from the Kyiv region purchased a batch of Horsch FertiProf Duo hoppers from a dealer in Schwandorf — a town in eastern Bavaria. Ukrautologistic Group’s task was simple in words and not so simple in practice: pick up three units with components and bring them to Ukraine within four days. Departure on August 3, unloading in the Kyiv region on the 7th.
What kind of machinery this is: The FertiProf Duo is a two-section mounted hopper for the precise application of dry mineral fertilizers. The photo clearly shows its “insides”: two metering units in the center at the bottom, a fan with corrugated lines on the side, and separate coils of hoses folded right there on the pallet. All this hydraulics and pneumatics sticks out in different directions — and that’s exactly why the cargo isn’t as “boxy” as the body makes it look.
How it was placed on the trailer: It traveled on a curtain-side semi-trailer. The three hoppers stood in a row, each on its own pallet. The straps (orange) were run across the body of the hopper and fastened to the pallet and the platform — so that the tension went through the sturdy body, not the metering units or the fan housing. The coils of corrugated hose were secured separately so they wouldn’t come loose in transit. Along with the hoppers, wooden crates of components rode on the trailer.
Where the nuance lies: Mixed cargo on a single trailer is always a bit harder than uniform machinery. Here — three large hoppers with delicate protruding elements, plus crates. The weight had to be distributed evenly across the axles, and at the same time nothing could be pinned down “on the raw” by a strap: neither the metering unit spouts nor the fan grille. So before departure, each lashing point was checked individually.
Result: Ukrautologistic Group delivered all three Horsch FertiProf Duo hoppers to the Kyiv region on August 7 — complete and undamaged. The metering units intact, the fans intact, the hoses in place. The machinery is ready to go into the field for fertilizer application, with no repairs or additional assembly needed.
