Case Study: Delivery of a John Deere RD30F Header from Germany to the Sumy Region

Task: Organize the international transportation of a John Deere RD30F header from Zweibrücken (Germany) to the Konotop district of the Sumy region, Ukraine. It was important for the customer to receive the equipment before the start of the harvesting campaign in order to avoid combine downtime during the fieldwork season.

Challenge: The main difficulty arose at the loading stage. The header was transported on a special V-shaped transport frame, and when attempting to place the cargo inside a standard curtain-sided semi-trailer, it became clear that, in its existing configuration, it exceeded the available dimensions. In addition, the route to the Sumy region exceeded 2,200 km, making it essential to ensure the most secure cargo fixation possible for safe transportation over a long distance.

Solution: Ukrautologistic Group organized the transportation using a standard curtain-sided semi-trailer. During loading, the driver proposed an unconventional technical solution: special wooden support structures were manufactured and assembled on-site, allowing the header to be properly positioned inside the semi-trailer and securely fastened. After loading was completed, additional cargo securing measures were implemented, and all fastening points were thoroughly inspected. Throughout the entire route, the equipment was transported with extra care, while the customer received regular updates on the shipment’s progress.

Result: The John Deere RD30F header was successfully delivered from Germany to the Sumy region within 6 days. Despite the complex loading process and a route exceeding 2,200 km, the cargo arrived without damage and was ready in time for the start of the harvesting season.
